NORMANS BAY LAUNCH

It was a long time coming, but after very successful discussions in 2004, with the PWP (Personal Watercraft Partnership) and the Council Beach Inspector, plans and proposals were put forwarded to protect this most excellent Sussex launch site.

Normans Bay has been used by Jetskiers for many years, but with jetskiing becoming more popular, more people have been using Norman's Bay to launch.

With high numbers of PWC users launching at Norman's Bay, plans have needed to be put in place to ensure that this site continues to be open and is used safely and responsibly.

LAUNCH DETAILS

Over the past few years, jetski launch sites have become more controlled and a number of sites have been shut down due to complaints.  We are keen to ensure that this does not happen at Norman's Bay.
In view of this, there are Beach Wardens from Rother District Council during high season, patrolling Herbrand Walk at Norman's Bay.  They have authority to request information regarding each PWC.  You should therefore be aware that when launching at Norman's Bay, ALL craft should be clearly showing their DATATAG number and the owners will need to show their proof of insurance, on request by Rother District Council Beach Wardens, to be able to launch.

In return for setting up a club to police the water, Rother District Council are now making plans to provide a parking area which will make access even easier.  No information has been released to advise when this may take place.

So, if you are a keen jetskier and would like to launch locally, or have just bought a ski and would like to join us and other jetskiers that use this site, pop down to Normans Bay with your Insurance and DataTag properly displayed on your craft and have some fun FOR FREE!!
